ADOPTER REQUIREMENTS

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

• On one hand, follow-up and monitoring are made prior and following every adoption. This means somebody in your area will periodically visit you in order to check the animal wealth conditions and well being. Adopter must be willing to allow a Pro Animales Mallorca representative to make this adoption follow-up in person and/or by telephone.
  
  
• On the other hand, no animals are : to be tied up, to use for hunting, nor to breed. All animales (especially females) are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. In case this is not possible due to their early age, the adoptant is required to sign up an agreement by which he comitts to spay/neuter the animal by an agreed date. The person in charge of the follow-up will check this has been done.

In case the adopted animal does not adapt well to the new home, he/she will be sent back to our shelter. On no account the animal will be given to others without Pro Animales Mallorca permission, nor to any other shelter or dog pound.

When adopting a pet from Pro Animales Mallorca, a legally binding and enforced contract must be signed. In case the animal is not yet vaccinated (most of them are) or has not been already microchipped, adoptant will provide both right away.

We reserve the right to reclaim the adopted animal in case any conditions of the adoption contract are not upheld.

The adoptant will pay for the necesary shipping and veterinary expenses that will allow the adopted animal to travel to his/her new home.

If you are not willing to accept this requirements you will not be able to adopt an animal from us !

Many of our animals have suffered abuse an mistreatment, the most fortunate have only suffered abandonment - which is more than enough. We want to be sure they are going to have a loving and permanent family, a comfortable and familiar atmosphere, love and understanding, and everything they need to be happy.

One last thing we would like to remind you: Adopting an animals is a responsibility that continues for the rest of his/her life. It is not a caprice for a few months.

They deserve the best, don´t you agree ?
